Troop G - November 26, 1985
Trooper Thomas F. Hudson, 41, was killed instantly on November 26, 1985 when his Troop car was struck from behind by a tractor trailer on Interstate 87 near Saratoga Springs.
A tractor trailer had become disabled partially in the driving lane and Trooper Hudson had positioned his Troop car, with its emergency lights in operation, behind the vehicle. A second tractor trailer struck the Troop car from behind, killing both Trooper Hudson and the operator of the disabled vehicle.
Trooper Hudson was a 15-year veteran of the State Police and had served in Troops B and T. He was assigned to SP Saratoga at the time of his death.
