1929 State Police Field Day

1929: Troopers from both Troop A and Troop D gather at the Batavia Fair Grounds for a benefit to support the Genesee County Children’s Health Camp.
The Field Day had the following events:

  • A Roman Riding Race
  • Music by the Le Roy High School Band
  • A hundred yard dash for Genesee County High School students
  • A mounted Tug-of-War
  • Rodeo and Rough Riding by members of Troop D
  • Pyramid building by Troop D
  • Horse jumping through the Hoop of Fire by Troop D
  • Trick and Fancy riding by Lieutenant Tremain M. Hughes, Troop D
  • Concert by the American Legion Band of Batavia
  • Mounted wrestling match between the Blue Team of Troop A and the White Team of Troop D
