The Wall of Honor, located in the New York State Police Academy in Albany, New York, honors troopers who have died in service to the residents of New York State.
On July 11, 1942, Trooper Richard L. Hedges, 29, was killed in a traffic accident while following a speeding car on Route 17 west of the hamlet of Chemung.
On May 24, 1942, Corporal Earl R. Wilkinson, 28, died on active duty with the United States Army Air Corps when his bomber crashed in a swamp near Houlton, Maine
On August 27, 1939, Trooper William F. Dobbs Jr., 30, was critically injured while on motorcycle patrol on the Taconic Parkway in the town of LaGrange.
