Witnesses Sought in Ongoing Red Hook Robbery Investigation

On May 21, 2025, at approximately 7:20 a.m., New York State Police Troopers and Investigators assigned to the SP Rhinebeck barracks responded to a report of a robbery in the parking lot of the Stewart’s Shop located at 7558 North Broadway in the Village of Red Hook.

Responding members located the suspect, identified as John E. Pagan, 61, of Kingston, NY, in the Village of Red Hook and took him into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed that shortly after the initial robbery, Pagan was involved in a second robbery involving an unidentified victim. This incident occurred near the intersection of West Market Street and State Route 9, also in the Village of Red Hook.

Pagan was transported to SP Rhinebeck for processing and charged with the following:

•    Robbery in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony)

•    Menacing in the 3rd Degree (Class B Misdemeanor)

•    Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree (Class E Felony)

•    Attempted Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

Pagan was arraigned in the Village of Red Hook Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of bail.
