On April 20, 2025, New York State Police in Wappingers arrested a Wappinger Falls man for domestic abuse.
Troopers responded to a residence in the Town of Wappinger for a report of a domestic dispute involving a knife. Investigation determined, Ismael Quiles, 38, struck the victim in the face and then grabbed a knife lunging towards the victim’s neck and head. The victim ultimately was able to gain control of the knife but sustained severe lacerations to her hands.
Quiles was arrested on scene and has been charged with the following:
- Menacing in the second degree
- Assault in the second degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree.
Quiles was remanded to Dutchess County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23, 2025, at 5:00.p.m, at the Town of Wappinger Court.
