*UPDATE FINAL* The New York State Police are actively investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 4:46 p.m. on the Taconic State Parkway near mile marker 9.2 in the Town of New Castle, Westchester County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2014 Ram ProMaster van operated by Yader A. Reyes, 50, of Long Branch, NJ, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center median into the northbound lanes. The van collided head on with a 2024 Honda Accord driven by Robert Violante, 45, of Granite Springs, NY, who was traveling in the northbound passing lane.

The impact caused the van to overturn and catch fire. Three passengers in the Ram ProMaster, identified as Odenis Balladares Martinez, 20, of Neptune, NJ; Harrison Mauricio Reyes Rivera, 34, of Long Branch, NJ; and Bryan Aguilar Castillo, 45, of Asbury Park, NJ, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Violante was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the van, Yader Reyes, remains hospitalized in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.

At this time, the cause of the crash is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.

The New York State Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier today on the Taconic State Parkway near mile marker 9.2 in the Town of New Castle, Westchester County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Ram ProMaster was traveling southbound when it crossed the center median and entered the northbound lanes. The Ram then struck a northbound Honda sedan, which was traveling in the passing lane.

The impact caused the Ram to overturn and become engulfed in flames. Three occupants of the Ram were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Honda, who was transported to the hospital has succumbed to their injuries and pronounced deceased. 

The driver of the Ram ProMaster, remains hospitalized in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.

The northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway remain closed at this time as investigators continue to investigate.
