Update:
The State Police continued to actively investigate the hit-and-run accident that occurred on July 11, 2024, in the town of Schuyler Falls. An investigation determined a white 2012 GMC Sierra was traveling on State Route 22B in the village of Morrisonville when the operator of the vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The operator was later identified as Michael A. Hathaway, age 24, of Lewis, NY. On August 21, 2024, Hathaway was charged with assault 2nd, reckless endangerment 1st, vehicular assault 2nd, driving while intoxicated, operator leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, and vehicle and traffic ticket.
Hathaway was processed at SP Plattsburgh and later arraigned in the Town of Schuyler Falls Court. Hathaway was remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail, $4,000 secured bond, or $6,000 partially secured bond. He is due to reappear in the Town of Schuyler Falls Court on September 18, 2024.
The victim is still admitted to the University of Vermont Medical Center and placed in the long-term care unit.
The State Police were assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff's Department and the Clinton County District Attorney's Office.

On July 12, 2024, subsequent to further investigation, State Police members identified the unknown vehicle in the hit-and-run accident as a white 2012 GMC Sierra. The State Police are actively investigating this incident.
The victim is still listed in critical condition at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
This is an ongoing investigation.

On July 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., State Police members responded to a car versus pedestrian accident on State Route 22B in the village of Morrisonville. A preliminary investigation determined an unknown vehicle was traveling on State Route 22B in the village of Morrisville when the operator of a vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim was located on the south shoulder of State Route 22B and sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to CVPH and later transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center, listed in critical condition.
State Police and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department are actively investigating this incident. The State Police are asking for the public’s assistance regarding this incident. If anyone knows the vehicle involved or has any information regarding the accident, is asked to contact the State Police at 518- 873-2777.
