Update: State Police make arrest in hit & run investigation

On December 18, 2024, State Police arrested Keith P. McNamara, age 51, of Kingston, NY, on one count of assault 2nd degree (class D felony), one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury (both class E felonies).

An investigation determined that on August 29, 2024, McNamara was driving the pick-up truck that struck Mark Segall, age 68, of Kingston, while he was riding his bicycle south on State Route 375 in the town of Woodstock. McNamara then fled the scene. Segall suffered serious injuries as a result of collision.

The New York State Police Kingston are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred on August 29, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Mark Segall, age 68 from Kingston was riding his bike and traveling south on State Route 375 in the town of Woodstock near the intersection of Maverick Road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Mr. Segall was transported Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. He is listed in critical but stable condition.

This is an ongoing investigation.
