UPDATE December 16, 2025:
Investigation into the serious vehicle collision December 15, 2025, on the Thruway near Exit 7A reveals that Jenssy J. Sanchez Vizcaino, 34, of Dunellen, New Jersey was traveling northbound in a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer when he encountered a 2006 Audi A3 in the right lane. Sanchez Vizcaino attempted to brake but was unable to stop, resulting in a rear-end collision with the Audi, operated by James Aggrey, 66, of Ossining.
Aggrey was transported by EMS to Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Sanchez Vizcaino went to Westchester Medical with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation; no charges have been made. Lanes were closed for several hours while the scene was processed and cleared. Troop T Uniformed Officers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU), along with Troop K Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded.

The State Police are investigating a serious vehicle collision that occurred on December 15, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m. northbound on I-87 near Exit 7A in the town of Greenburgh, Westchester County.
The Exit 7A deceleration ramp and right lane are closed; traffic is moving in the center and left lanes.
The investigation is ongoing; additional details will be released as they become available.
