The victim in the collision has been identified as Arturo Martinez Jimenez, 54, of Brewster, New York.

On January 5, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., New York State Police Somers responded to the area of mile marker 24.3 southbound on Interstate 684, in the Town of North Salem, for a report of a car-versus-pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a male was walking in the left lane of Interstate 684 when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
