Update:
Subsequent to a multi-agency law enforcement search, on June 8, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the suspects were located in a camp north of State Route 11. NYSP SORT and K9’s located the 17-year-old white male and the 16-year-old black male, placing them in custody without incident.
A 17-year-old white male from Plattsburgh, NY, a 16-year-old black male from Buffalo, NY, a 16-year-old white male from Amherst, NY, and a 15-year-old white male from Danso, NY, were all transported to SP Malone for processing. They were all charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th: firearms, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, and Resisting Arrest.
They were arraigned in the Youth Part of Criminal Court. A 17-year-old white male from Plattsburgh, NY, and a 16-year-old black male from Buffalo, NY, 16-year-old white male of Amherst, NY, were remanded to a juvenile detention center. The 15-year-old was released and turned over to his parents.
The State Police members of BIC, UF, URT, Drone Operators, and SORT were assisted by the Tri-County SRT, United States Customs and Border Protection, CBP Air and Marine Operations out of Plattsburgh, ENCON, NY State Forest Rangers and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Update:
Throughout the night, agencies continued to maintain a perimeter. At the same time, multi-agencies searched for the two additional suspects, a 17-year-old white male, Jaden Labare, and a 16-year-old black male, Devan Smith Bell.
On the morning of June 8, 2024, Labare and Bell were located and detained. All four suspects are in custody.

New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two possible suspects in an ongoing investigation: a 17-year-old white male, Jaden Labare, and a 16-year-old black male, Devan Smith Bell.
State Police, USBP, New York State Forest Rangers, and Tri-County SRT continue to have a perimeter around Coveytown Road in the town of Burke. State Police K9s, USBP K9, and law enforcement agencies are actively searching the wooded and surrounding areas.
These suspects would possibly be in possession of a long gun, do not approach them, if you have information regarding this incident please contact, the New York State Police at 518-563-3761.

On June 7, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., State Police initiated a pursuit of a stolen vehicle with stolen long guns out of Berkshire, NY. The operator of the stolen vehicle drove off into a field near the intersection of 70th Road and Spencer Road in the town of Burke. The car became stuck, and the suspects fled into a wooded area. One suspect is in custody, and other(s) remain at large.
State Police, USBP, New York State Forest Rangers, and Tri-County SRT have set a perimeter around Coveytown Road in the town of Burke. State Police K9s, USBP K9, and law enforcement agencies are actively searching the wooded and surrounding areas.
This is an ongoing investigation.
