**UPDATE** Southern State Parkway Road Closure, Fatal Investigation

The deceased sole occupant was Stephanie T. Malone, age 28, of Ronkonkoma, NY operating a 2013 Nissan Altima.

This crash is still under investigation and the State Police is asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to call (631) 756-3300.

Operator of vehicle was sole occupant and pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim involved in this crash is being withheld at this time pending notification to their family.
All lanes on Southern State Parkway are now open.

On Monday, March 4th, 2024, at around 2:47 p.m., the State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on the eastbound Southern State Parkway in therea of exit 40S, in the town of Islip, Suffolk County.
At this time, all lanes Southern State Parkway eastbound at exit 39 and Southern State Parkway westbound left lane are closed due to an ongoing investigation.
