On October 22, 2024, State Police members arrested Chad A. Matton, age 34, of Morrisonville, NY, and Samantha J. Lafave, age 39, of Morrisonville, NY, for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
On September 29, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Troopers responded to LaPlante Road in the town of Beekmantown for a larceny of a vehicle complaint. An investigation determined the victim allowed a friend to use the vehicle, a 1993 Toyota Celica, when it ran out of gas. Matton and Lafave then took the car from the side of the road without having permission to drive it. When the victim asked for the car back, they would not return the car. State Police located the vehicle and later returned the car to the victim.
Matton and Lafave were located, arrested, and transported to SP Champlain for processing. They were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Altona Court for a later date in November.
