Two individuals from Massena arrested for grand larceny 4th in the town of Potsdam
press release

On June 7, 2025, State Police arrested Hunter J. Lamay, 20, of Massena, NY, for several charges: grand larceny 4th degree, conspiracy 5th degree, criminal trespass 3rd degree, and obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree. Also arrested was Michael A. Coleman, 23, also from Massena, NY, facing charges of grand larceny 4th degree, conspiracy 5th degree, and obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree.

The arrests followed an incident that occurred on May 30, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m., when State Police responded to a larceny complaint at Walmart on US Highway 11 in Potsdam. An investigation revealed that two males entered the store and stole merchandise valued at $2,471.00, bypassing all points of purchase. One male exited the store first, while the second pushed a cart filled with merchandise outside. Upon noticing law enforcement, the first male quickly entered a vehicle and fled the scene, while the second male ran in the opposite direction. Both individuals ignored commands from law enforcement.

Through ongoing investigations, Lamay and Coleman were identified as the suspects. At the time of their arrest, they were being held in St. Lawrence County Jail for an unrelated incident. They were transported from the jail to SP Canton for processing and subsequently issued appearance tickets to appear before the Town of Potsdam Court in July. They were then returned to St. Lawrence County Jail.
