Two individuals arrested in the town of Massena on drug charges

On March 8th, 2025, Troop B-Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team charged Alexander J. Herbert, 28, of Ottawa, ON, with two counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (a class B felony), two counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th (a class C Felony), one count Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree and one count Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd (both class A misdemeanors). Also charged was Logan Dyer-Charlebois, 28, of Ottawa, ON, with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree (a class A misdemeanor).

On the same day, members of the New York State Police responded to the Massena Port of Entry where Herbert and Dyer-Charlebois were being detained by US Customs and Border Protection Agents after they were found to be carrying a quantity of narcotics. Further inspection of their vehicle revealed that Herbert was in possession of approximately 24 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and glass smoking devices. A search of Dyer-Charlebois determined that she was in possession of cocaine and a smoking device on her person.

Dyer-Charlebois was processed without incident and Herbert was arraigned at the Massena Town Court. Both are to appear back in court at a later date after being transported back to Canada.
