On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at approximately 3 p.m., law enforcement observed a vehicle in the village of Saranac Lake that was being driven by Jammie R. Reynolds, 47, of Saranac Lake. Reynolds was wanted on an indictment warrant out of Franklin County. New York State Police initiated a traffic stop on Bloomingdale Avenue when Reynolds failed to comply. Following a 34-minute pursuit, Reynolds and his passenger, Leigha R. Rice, 38, of Key Largo, FL, were taken into custody without incident in the town of Duane.
Reynolds was found to be in possession of approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine and a residual amount of cocaine. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony), Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 7th (Cocaine), Promoting Prison Contraband 1st, Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2 counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Failure to Comply, 6 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd (Indictment Warrant), and issued 66 traffic tickets. Reynolds was arraigned in Franklin County Court on the indictment warrant and remanded to Franklin County Jail on $50,000.00 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Malone Town Court on November 12, 2024, to be arraigned on the charges stemming from the pursuit.
Rice was charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 7th, Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2 counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd. Rice was released on Appearance Tickets for a later court date.
