Troopers take two Rochester residents into custody after a pursuit

*Update* Snead was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd: Loaded Firearm (C Felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd: Ammo Feeding Device (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd-Defaced (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd: Previous Conviction (D Felony) and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd (A Misdemeanor), and traffic infractions. Pride was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd: Loaded Firearm (C Felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd: Ammo Feeding Device (D Felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd-Defaced (D Felony). Snead and Pride were processed without incident and transported to Monroe County Jail, awaiting pretrial arraignment on July 12, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

The New York State Police were assisted by Rochester Police Department.

On July 11, 2024, at approximately 5:36 p.m., troopers from SP Rochester conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The operator, Amiricle J. Snead, age 22, of Rochester, NY, initially stopped and produced his identification, then sped off. The troopers initiated a pursuit that traversed several city streets. At approximately 5:38 p.m., the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on Wolff Street turned right onto Warner Street, where it struck a marked New York State Police patrol car, which was traveling north on Warner Street.

Subsequent to the collision, Snead fled on foot and was taken into custody without incident. The passenger, Davian F. Pride, age 20, of Rochester, NY, was taken into custody at the scene. Both Snead and Pride were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The troopers were not injured. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
