Troopers investigate head-on crash in Delhi

On July 11, 2025, at approximately 4:19 p.m., New York State Police responded to a head-on crash on State Highway 28 near Glen Burnie Road in the town of Delhi. 

A preliminary investigation at the scene indicates that 71-year-old Roger Hadley of Andes, NY was operating a pick-up truck southbound when for an unknown reason crossed over the double solid yellow line into on-coming traffic.  The pick-up truck struck an SUV that was traveling northbound head-on.  Hadly was pronounced deceased on scene. 

The driver of the SUV, identified as New York State Trooper Anna Aulino, was off duty and traveling home in her personal vehicle after completing her shift. Trooper Aulino sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Her injuries appear to be non-life threatening at this time. Trooper Aulino graduated from the New York State Police Academy in 2023 and is assigned to Troop C.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded to the scene to conduct a full reconstruction of the crash.

The Office of the Attorney General has been notified and is also investigating the crash.

The investigation is on-going.
