Troopers arrested a Bronx, NY man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance following a traffic stop in the town of Rockland

On February 5, 2024, at approximately 6:26 p.m. on I7 westbound in the vicinity of exit 94, members of the Troop F New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2013 blue Honda Pilot with a Connecticut license plate, in the town of Rockland, violating several vehicle and traffic infractions. Troopers stopped the vehicle and interviewed the operator Fernando Rojas-Urena, age 24, from Bronx, New York. Troopers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and subsequently located a hidden compartment in the glovebox. K-9 Moran with the assistance of his handler arrived on scene to assist.

Troopers located 4 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the vehicle.

Fernando Rojas-Urena was arrested for Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 1st degree, and Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Intent to Sell.

ROJAS-URENA was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail.
