Trooper Arrests Woman for DWI with Children in Vehicle in Croton-on-Hudson

On May 16, 2025, a Trooper from SP Cortlandt conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Tesla on Route 9 in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson for multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

While interviewing the operator, identified as Jennifer L. Moore, 36, of Beacon, NY, signs of intoxication were observed. Moore was administered standardized field sobriety tests, which she subsequently failed.

An investigation revealed that three children, ages 1, 2, and 13, were also in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Moore was taken into custody and transported to SP Cortlandt for processing, where she refused to provide a breath sample. The three children were turned over to a sober party. 

Moore was charged with the following offenses:

•    Three counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child/Passenger- Less than 16 (Leandra’s Law) (E Felony)

•    Driving While Intoxicated (Unclassified Misdemeanor)

•    Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations

Moore was arraigned in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Court where she was released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to reappear on May 21, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
