Troop F Community Stabilization Unit Arrest Endicott Man on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 4:37 p.m., members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2015 Nissan traveling westbound on State Route 17 in the town of Rockland, violating multiple New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Troopers initiated a stop of the vehicle and interviewed the driver, identified as Jamar S. Kea, age 33, and his 23-year-old female passenger, both of Endicott, NY.

During the investigation, Kea consented to a vehicle search, which led to the discovery of approximately 3 pounds of cannabis, over 400 grams of cocaine, and over 100 grams of fentanyl. Both Kea and his passenger were arrested and transported to State Police Liberty. Kea took full responsibility for the illegal substances, further stating that the 23-year-old female was unaware of the illegal substances being transported in the vehicle. The female passenger was subsequently released.

Kea was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree a Class A-1 Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree a Class B Felony
  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell a Class B Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the 3rd Degree a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets

Kea was arraigned at the Town of Rockland Court, where he was remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail while awaiting a future court appearance.
