Traffic Stop, Pursuit on the Palisades Results in Arrests

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m., A Trooper on patrol attempted to stop a Nissan sedan on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Orangetown, NY, for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The driver failed to comply and fled from the Trooper. In an attempt to escape, the fleeing vehicle failed to negotiate a turn at Exit 6 and crashed. Troopers took the driver and two passengers into custody and found multiple credit cards and checks that were in the names of other people.

The driver of the vehicle, Abdul T. Perry, age 33, of Brooklyn, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class D felony; Unlawful Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors. He was arraigned and released pending a future court date.

Passenger James P. McMillan, age 33, of Orangetown, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, a class E felony. He was arraigned and released pending a future court date.

Passenger Willie M. McLeod, age 38, of Newburgh, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class D felony. McLeod was arraigned and ordered held at the Rockland County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
