Sullivan County Male Arrested for Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child

The Sullivan County Child Abuse Unit announces the arrest of Joel Deutsch, age 34, from the Village of Monticello.   The New York State Police working in conjunction with Sullivan County Child Protective Services received information that Deutsch engaged in sexual conduct with a child.  The investigation revealed Deutsch engaged in sexual conduct with a child less than thirteen years old in Rockland County.   He also engaged in sexual conduct with a child less than fifteen years old in Sullivan County.   The investigation also revealed Deutsch provided alcohol and electronic cigarettes to minors.  

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Deutsch was charged in Rockland County with Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child (A-II Felony), Endangering the Welfare of a child (Misdemeanor -two counts) and Unlawfully Dealing with a child in the First Degree (Misdemeanor-two counts).  Deutsch was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court where he was remanded to Rockland County Jail without bail. 

In addition, Deutsch was also charged in Sullivan County for Rape in the second degree (D Felony-twelve counts), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misdemeanor-two counts) and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree (Misdemeanor-two counts).  Deutsch will be arraigned in Sullivan County at a later date, pending a Judicial Order.
