State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 8/27- 9/8

Late entry- On July 18, 2025, at about 12:55 p.m. State Police of Chestertown responded to the report of a one-car crash on I-87 in Lake George, NY. The driver was identified as Patrick K. McGrath, 58 of Queensbury, NY. McGrath sustained injuries during the crash and was transported to Glens Falls Hospital from the scene for further evaluation and treatment. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Further investigation discovered McGrath has had a previous DWI conviction the last ten years. A blood sample taken during the investigation later determined McGrath had a 0.09% BAC and had Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his system. McGrath was processed at SP Queensbury on September 9, 2025, for the original charges and the addition charge of Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Influence of Drugs and Alcohol. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Lake George Town Court on September 4, 2025, and released.

Late entry- On July 18, 2025, at about 5:38 p.m. State Police of Saratoga responded to the report of a two-car crash on State Route 9P in Malta, NY. The investigation determined Amy L. Morey, 37 of Queensbury, NY was driving eastbound on State Route 9P when she left her lane of travel and struck a westbound vehicle head on. Morey along with the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were all transported to the hospital with injuries. The investigation later determined Morey’s BAC was 0.19% following the crash and she was arrested on August 16, 2025, for Reckless Endangerment in the second degree, Assault in the third degree, Driving While Intoxicated and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on September 4, 2025. On September 4, 2025, Morey was processed at SP Saratoga following her arraignment and then released.

On August 27, 2025, at about 4:45 a.m. State Police of Wells responded to the report of a disabled vehicle on County Road 6 in Benson, NY. The driver was identified as John S. Ahl, 33 of Northville, NY. Ahl was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Mayfield for processing where he recorded a 0.20% BAC.  Ahl was later issued tickets returnable to the Benson Town Court on September 17, 2025, and released.

On August 29, 2025, at about 11:12 p.m. State Police of New Scotland stopped a vehicle on Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Andrew J. Pioggia, 32 of Albany, NY. Pioggia was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Guilderland for processing where he recorded a 0.17% BAC. Further investigation determined Pioggia has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. Pioggia was issued tickets returnable to the Guilderland Town Court on September 18, 2025, and released. 

On August 30, 2025, at about 1:36 a.m. State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on Saratoga Road in Ballston, NY. The driver was identified as Matthew J. Connor, 48 of Ballston Lake, NY. Connor was arrested for Driving While Intoxicate and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing where he recorded a 0.16% BAC. Further investigation discovered Connor has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. Connor was issued tickets returnable to the Ballston Town Court on October 14, 2025, and released.

On September 1, 2025, at about 12:51 a.m. State Police of Princetown stopped a vehicle on Broadway in Schenectady, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Carlos H. Sacticyucute, 40 of Albany, NY. Sacticyucute was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Princetown for processing where he recorded a 0.20% BAC. Sacticyucute was issued tickets returnable to the Schenectady City Court on September 24, 2025, and released. 

On September 1, 2025, at about 1:00 a.m. State Police of Queensbury stopped a motorcycle on Canada Street in Lake George, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Todd D. Tully, 39 of Stafford Springs, CT. Tully was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Queensbury for processing where he recorded a 0.22% BAC. Tully was issued tickets returnable to the Lake George Town Court on September 18, 2025, and released.

On September 2, 2025, at about 11:30 p.m. State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on I-787 in Albany, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Sadea V. Whitaker, 27 of Albany, NY. Whitaker was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Latham for processing where she recorded a 0.18% BAC.  Whitaker was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on September 19, 2025, and released to a sober third party.

On September 4, 2025, at about 9:56 p.m. State Police of Sand Lake responded to the report of two parked unoccupied vehicles being struck in the area of State Route 43 in Sand Lake, NY. The vehicle that had caused the damage fled the scene but was located by Troopers a short distance away. The driver was identified as Tyler J. Lewis, 44 of Sand Lake, NY. Lewis was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Sand Lake for processing where he recorded a 0.32% BAC. Lewis was issued tickets returnable to the Sand Lake Town Court on October 13, 2025, and released.

On September 5, 2025, at about 11:08 p.m. State Police of New Scotland stopped a vehicle on Fuller Road in Guilderland, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver who initially provided false identifying information but through the course of the investigation and with the assistance of the Albany Police Department and Guilderland Police Department was identified as Tammy M. Angel, 55 of Albany, NY. Two children under the age of 16 were also located in the vehicle. Angel was arrested for two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, False Personation, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law) and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Angel was transported to SP Guilderland for processing where she recorded a 0.17% BAC. Angel was then transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. The children were released to a sober adult.

On September 6, 2025, at about 11:45 p.m. State Police of Greenwich stopped a vehicle on State Route 29 in Greenwich, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Bryan S. Lacasse, 40 of Ballston Spa, NY and a child under the age of 16 was located in the vehicle. The child was turned over to the care of a family member. Lacasse was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law) and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Greenwich for processing where he recorded a 0.12% BAC. Lacasse was issued tickets returnable to the Greenwich Town Court on October 9, 2025, and released to a sober third party.

On September 7, 2025, at about 12:38 a.m. State Police of Chestertown stopped a vehicle on Flat Rock Road in Lake George, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Kevin J. Flahive, 72 of Schenectady, NY. Flahive was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Queensbury for processing where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Flahive was issued tickets returnable to the Lake George Town Court on September 18, 2025, and released to a sober third party.

On September 7, 2025, at about 3:02 a.m. State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on East West Road in Saratoga Springs, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Giana S. Changa, 22 of Cohoes, NY. Changa was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Saratoga for processing where she recorded a 0.19% BAC. Changa was issued tickets returnable to the Saratoga City Court on October 2, 2025, and released.
