State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 6/19- 6/25

On June 19, 2025, at about 2:00 a.m. State Police of New Scotland stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue in Albany, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Monica D. Santiago, 34 of Albany, NY. Santiago was arrested and transported to SP Latham for processing where she recorded a 0.09% BAC. Further investigation discovered Santiago has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. She was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on July 7, 2025, and released.

On June 20, 2025, at about 7:43 p.m. State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Gavindra Hoolas, 32 of Rensselaer, NY. Hoolas was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing where he recorded a 0.23% BAC. Hoolas was issued tickets returnable to the Saratoga Springs City Court on July 17, 2025, and released.

On June 21, 2025, at about 11:35 a.m. State Police of Wilton stopped a vehicle on Saratoga Road in Moreau, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Michael A. LaPoint, 67 of Moreau, NY. LaPoint was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Wilton for processing where he recorded a 0.08% BAC. Further investigation discovered LaPoint has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. LaPoint was issued tickets returnable to the Moreau Town Court on July 23, 2025, and released. 

On June 22, 2025, at about 2:18 a.m. State Police of Saratoga responded to the report of an erratic operator, unable to maintain their lane. Troopers the vehicle matching the caller’s description and stopped it on Luther Road in Stillwater, NY. The driver was identified as Jacob A. Brooks, 30 of Mechanicville, NY. Brooks was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing where he recorded a 0.24% BAC. Brooks was issued tickets returnable to the Stillwater Town Court on July 23, 2025, and released to a sober third party.

On June 25, 2025, at about 7:56 p.m. State Police of Cobleskill responded to the area of Warnerville CutOff in Richmondville, NY for the report of an unconscious driver in a stopped but running vehicle. Troopers located the vehicle and woke the driver who was identified as Kathleen M. Kerrigan, 38 of Philadelphia, PA. Kerrigan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing where she recorded a 0.22% BAC. Kerrigan was issued tickets returnable to the Richmondville Town Court on August 13, 2025, and released to a sober third party.
