State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 4/16 -4/21

On April 16, 2025, at about 9:17 p.m., State Police assigned to the Northway Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Malta, NY, for a violation of the Move Over Vehicle and Traffic Law.  The driver was identified as Barbara L. Montag, 50, of Ballston Lake, NY.  Montag was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where she recorded a 0.09% BAC.  Further investigation discovered Montag has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. She was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on May 8, 2025, and released to a sober third party.

On April 17, 2025, at about 10:06 p.m., State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Malta, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  The driver was identified as Pierce D. Jasmin, 19, of Mechanicville, NY.  Jasmin was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC. Jasmin was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on May 8, 2025, and released to a sober third party. 

On April 19, 2025, at about 6:37 p.m., State Police of Schodack stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Schodack, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Shawn P. Curley, 49, of Castleton on Hudson, NY.  While being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, Curley was found to possess a Controlled Substance and also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. He was transported to SP Schodack for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.  Curley was issued tickets returnable to the Schodack Town Court on May 14, 2025, and released to a sober third party.   

On April 20, 2025, at about 7:31 p.m., State Police of Brunswick responded to the reports of a one-car crash off the roadway of State Route 67 in Pittstown, NY.  The driver was identified as Paul R. Qua, 60, of Johnsonville, NY. Qua was arrested for Driving While Impaired by drugs and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and provided a sample to determine the drug content of his blood. Further investigation discovered Qua has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Pittstown Town Court on May 14, 2025, and released to a sober third party.  

On April 21, 2025, at about 11:55 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol responded to the reports of a one-car rollover crash off the roadway of Interstate 90 in East Greenbush, NY.  The driver was identified as Donna N. Scott, 48, of Albany, NY.  Two adult passengers and a child passenger under the age of 17 were also located in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All were transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Scott was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood and was released to the hospital staff. After being released from the hospital on April 22, 2025, Scott was processed at SP Latham, issued tickets returnable to the East Greenbush Town Court on May 29, 2025, and released.
