State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 3/14 - 4/4

On March 14, 2024, at about 4:09 a.m., State Police of Clifton Park stopped a vehicle on State Route 146 in Clifton Park, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Edward M. Carroll Jr., 26, of Clifton Park, NY.  Carroll Jr. was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.25% BAC. Further investigation discovered Carroll Jr. has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to Clifton Park Town on March 27, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On March 14, 2024, at about 7:26 p.m., State Police of Saratoga responded to the reports of an erratic driver in the area of State Route 67 in Malta, NY. Troopers patrolled the area and located a vehicle matching the caller’s description on State Route 9 in Malta, NY. The car was stopped, and the driver was identified as Melissa C. Mullen, 45, of Mechanicville, NY.  Mullen was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where she recorded a 0.30% BAC.  Mullen was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on March 28, 2024, and released to a sober third party. 

On March 16, 2024, at about 5:18 p.m., State Police of New Scotland responded to the report of a vehicle off the roadway in the area of Indian Fields Road in Coeymans, NY. The driver was uninjured and identified as Aaron M. Bradt, 28, of Feura Bush, NY.  Bradt was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP New Scotland for processing, where he recorded a 0.18% BAC.  Bradt was issued tickets returnable to the Coeymans Town Court on April 18, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On March 16, 2024, at about 10:30 p.m., State Police of Westerlo stopped a vehicle on Oakwood Avenue in Brunswick, NY, after it bypassed a Sobriety Checkpoint, failing to stop as instructed. The driver was identified as Christopher L. Jura, 43, of Mechanicville, NY.  Jura was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where he recorded a 0.18% BAC.  Jura was issued tickets returnable to the Brunswick Town Court on April 17, 2024, and released. 

On March 17, 2024, at about 1:35 a.m. State Police of Princetown stopped a vehicle on Emmett Street in Schenectady, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Satesh Itwaru, 23, of Schenectady, NY.  Itwaru was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Princetown for processing, where he recorded a 0.12% BAC. Further investigation discovered Itwaru has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Schenectady City Court on April 4, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On March 17, 2024, at about 11:20 p.m., State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Malta, NY, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Tyler A. Kennedo, 21 of Wilton, NY.  Kennedo was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Kennedo was issued ticket returnable to the Malta Town Court on April 4, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On March 18, 2024, at about 1:01 a.m. State Police of Fonda stopped a vehicle on Church Street in Amsterdam, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Sammel M. Reeves, 37, of Columbus, GA. Reeves was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Fonda for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Reeves was issued tickets returnable to the Amsterdam City Court on April 23, 2024, and released.

On March 18, 2024, at about 4:24 p.m., State Police of Brunswick responded to the reports of a one-car rollover crash in the area of Johnsonville Road in Johnsonville, NY. The driver was identified as Terry M. Brust, 32, of Johnsonville, NY.  Brust was transported to Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Brust was arrested at the hospital for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood and was issued tickets returnable to the Pittstown Town Court on April 3, 2024. Further investigation determined Brust has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. On March 24, 2024, Brust was processed on the charges at SP Brunswick and released.

On March 18, 2024, at about 7:37 p.m., State Police of Princetown observed a vehicle stopped partially in the travel lane of Duanesburg Road in Princetown, NY. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Nidhin Suresh, 41, of Clifton Park, NY.  Suresh was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Princetown for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% BAC.  Suresh was issued tickets returnable to the Princetown Town Court on April 17, 2024, and released to a sober third party. 

On March 19, 2024, at about 11:18 p.m., State Police of Greenwich stopped a vehicle on County Route 113 in Easton, NY, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Jesus A. Vasquez, 40, of Schuylerville, NY.  Vasquez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Greenwich for processing, where he recorded a 0.17% BAC. Further investigation discovered Vasquez has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Easton Town Court on April 18, 2024, and released to a sober third party. 

On March 21, 2024, at about 2:31 a.m. State Police of Brunswick stopped a vehicle on Southern Boulevard in Albany, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Yudelka Almonte-Lecler, 44, of Albany, NY.  Almonte-Lecler was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Latham for processing, where she refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood. Further investigation determined Almonte-Lecler has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.  Almonte-Lecler was then arraigned at the Albany City Court where she was released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.

On March 25, 2024, at about 6:06 a.m. State Police of Fonda responded to the reports of a car off the roadway in the area of State Route 30A in Mohawk, NY. The driver was uninjured and identified as Sherri L. Jones, 54, of Fonda, NY.  Jones was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Fonda for processing, where she recorded a 0.19% BAC.  Jones was issued tickets returnable to the Mohawk Town Court on April 17, 2024, and released.

On March 27, 2024, at about 2:27 a.m. State Police of Princetown stopped a vehicle on Curry Road Extension in Colonie, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Melissa J. Stewart, 35, of Watervliet, NY. During the interview with Stewart, she became uncooperative and fled the stop in her vehicle. A pursuit was initiated and ended in the area of Parkers Corner Road in Princetown, NY when Stewart crashed into two parked vehicles.  Stewart, who was uninjured, was arrested for Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, three counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, Driving While Intoxicated, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Princetown for processing, where she refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood. Further investigation discovered Stewart had had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.  Stewart was transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

On March 30, 2024, at about 1:40 a.m. State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on the Green Island Bridge in the village of Green Island, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Sahara D. Outing, 46, of Latham, NY.  Outing was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Latham for processing, where she recorded a 0.12% BAC. Further investigation discovered Outing has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. She was issued tickets returnable to the Green Island Village court on April 9, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
