State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 12/14-12/21

On December 14, 2023, at about 8:34 p.m., State Police of Clifton Park stopped a vehicle on Van Patten Drive in Clifton Park, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Patric S. Scavotto, 30, of Schenectady, NY.  Scavotto was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.22% BAC.  Scavotto was issued a ticket returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on January 31, 2024, and released to a sober third party.  

On December 15, 2023, at about 12:04 a.m. State Police of New Scotland stopped a vehicle on New Scotland South Road in New Scotland, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Robert J. Deluke III, 37, of Altamont, NY.  Deluke was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP New Scotland for processing, where he recorded a 0.17% BAC. Further investigation discovered that Deluke has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was arraigned at the Westerlo Town Court and released on his own recognizance.   

On December 15, 2023, at about 4:50 p.m., State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on Thimbleberry Road in Malta, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Garrett J. Penistan, 53, of Malta, NY.  Penistan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% BAC.  Penistan was issued tickets returnable to the Malta Town Court on December 21, 2023, and released to a sober third party.  

On December 17, 2023, at about 12:06 a.m., State Police of Chestertown responded to the area of Main Street in Warrensburg, NY, for the report of a one-vehicle crash with rollover. The driver was witnessed fleeing the scene after the crash. A search of the area with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office located the driver, who was identified as Austin A. Gordan, 23, of Greenville, NY, walking in the area of Rosalie Avenue.  Gordan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Chestertown for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.  Gordan was issued tickets returnable to the Warrensburg Town Court on January 10, 2024, and released to a sober third party. 

On December 21, 2023, at about 2:43 a.m. State Police of Clifton Park observed a vehicle whose operator was asleep at the wheel in the area of State Route 9 in Clifton Park, NY. The Troopers approached the vehicle and located the driver, Nicholas A. Rodriguez, 34, of Halfmoon, NY, asleep with the vehicle running and in drive.  Rodriguez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.  Rodriguez was issued tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on January 4, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
