State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 10/24- 10/30

On October 24, 2024, at about 7:50 p.m., State Police of Saratoga responded to the area of Indian Path in Milton, NY, for the reports of a vehicle stopped in the roadway with an unresponsive driver.  The vehicle was located in the exact reported location. The driver, who was asleep when Troopers approached the car, was identified as Michael W. Koebbman, 57, of Milton, NY.  Koebbman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.27% BAC.  Koebberman was issued tickets returnable to the Milton Town Court on November 25, 2024, and released.

On October 24, 2024, at about 10:31 p.m., State Police of Brunswick responded to the reports of a one-car crash off the roadway in the area of Cooksboro Road in Brunswick, NY.  The driver was uninjured and identified as Janet M. Herter, 55, of Brunswick, NY.  Herter was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  She was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where she refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood.  Further investigation discovered Herter has had multiple DWI convictions in the last ten years. She was then arraigned at the Schaghticoke Town Court who released he on her own recognizance.

On October 24, 2024, at about 11:02 p.m., State Police of Princetown stopped a vehicle on Broadway in Schenectady, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  The driver was identified as Royan Boodhai, 34, of Schenectady, NY. Boodhai was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP Princetown for processing, where he recorded a 0.10% BAC. Further investigation discovered Boodhai has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.  He was issued tickets returnable to the Schenectady City Court on December 5, 2024, and released to a sober third party. 

On October 24, 2024, at about 11:57 p.m., State Police of Wilton stopped a vehicle on Saratoga Road in Moreau, NY.  The driver was identified as Nicholas A. Bielecki, 27, of Glens Falls, NY.  Bielecki was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.23% BAC. Bielecki was issued tickets returnable to the Moreau Town Court on November 6, 2024, and released to a sober third party.    

On October 26, 2024, at about 10:20 p.m., State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Malta, NY, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  The driver was identified as Joseph A. Nowhitney, 33, of Ballston Spa, NY.  Nowhitney was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. While being taken into custody, Nowhitney was found to possess a controlled substance and was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% BAC.  Further investigation discovered that Nowhitney has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Malta Town Court on November 14, 2024, and released.   

October 27, 2024, at about 12:56 a.m. State Police of Cobleskill responded to a home in Seward, NY, for the report of a vehicle being taken without the owner’s permission following a dispute.  During interviews, the vehicle arrived at the scene being driven by Tyler Lacitignola, 27, of Richmondville, NY. Lacitignola was known to the victim, and the vehicle was returned to them at the scene. Lacitignola was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. He was issued tickets returnable to the Seward Town Court on December 5, 2024, and released.

On October 27, 2024, at about 6:18 p.m., State Police of Chestertown responded to the report of a car that struck a pilon in the parking lot of a business on Main Street in Warrensburg, NY.  The vehicle involved was located still at the scene, and the driver was identified as Lee T. Garrand, 60, of Queensbury, NY. Garrand was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  He was transported to SP Queensbury for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC. Garrand was issued a ticket returnable to the Warrensburg Town Court on November 13, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
