On April 22, 2025, a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was issued to surrounding counties for a 2007 Hyundai wanted in connection with an attempted strong-arm robbery of a FedEx driver in Newtown, CT. The vehicle was spotted by a Trooper traveling southbound on I-684.
A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle exited I-684 at Exit 6 (Route 35 & Cherry Street) in the Town of Bedford. The operator and sole occupant, David Del Rosario Encarnacion, 36, of Bronx, NY, was taken into custody without incident and transported to SP Somers for further investigation.
Through joint efforts with the Newtown Police Department, Somers investigators were able to confirm Del Rosario Encarnacion being at the scene of the crime.
During processing, it was also discovered that he has an active full-extraditable arrest warrant in Pennsylvania for Forgery.
Del Rosario Encarnacion was subsequently remanded to Westchester County Jail.
