State Police Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Collision in Coxsackie

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., troopers from the New York State Police Catskill barracks responded to a report of a one-car motor vehicle collision on State Route 81 in the town of Coxsackie, NY.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 16-year-old male was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Route 81 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck a rock embankment.

There were four additional juvenile passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All five occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries and were transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment. At this time, all individuals are reported to be in stable condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
