UPDATE: The male has been identified as James W. Newlove, age 68, from Utica, NY.

On July 25, 2024, at about 11:56 a.m., State Police responded to CSX railroad tracks beneath River Street Bridge in the village of Oriskany for a report of a male that deceased after being struck by a train traveling westbound.
The victim is not identified at this time. There does not appear to be any signs of foul play.
The investigation is continuing.
