State Police is investigating a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in the Town of Minisink

On January 23, 2026, at approximately 2:55 p.m., troopers from the State Police Greenville barracks in Orange County responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of State Route 284 and County Road 22 in the town of Minisink.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2014 Jeep was traveling northbound on State Route 284 when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2018 Western Star tri-axle dump truck head-on. The Jeep was operated and solely occupied by Joshua R. Stevens, age 25, of Westtown, NY.

Stevens succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the dump truck, identified as Michael Fasce, age 38, of Wurtsboro, NY, was not injured.
