Press Release

On April 2, 2025, at approximately 10:53 p.m., troopers from State Police Monroe responded to a single-car motor vehicle collision on Route 6 in the town of Woodbury, NY.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2017 Nissan, traveling eastbound on Route 6 at a high rate of speed, failed to navigate the curve at the Long Mountain traffic circle. The vehicle proceeded through the center of the traffic circle and struck a tree in the middle.

All three occupants were extricated from the vehicle. Steffany Egger and the 21-year-old male front-seat passenger were treated at the scene by EMS personnel and later transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, Xavier Egger, the back-seat passenger, succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced deceased.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact the State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
