State Police investigate a three car collision involving a Troop car

On October 3, 2025, at approximately 3:35 P.M., members of the New York State Police responded to a three-car collision involving a marked State Police vehicle on Interstate 87 northbound in the town of Schroon Lake. 

A preliminary investigation determined that a State Police member was conducting a traffic stop at the time of the incident, and an uninvolved vehicle struck the trooper's car. The impact contributed to a multi-vehicle collision. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
