On September 25, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Troopers responded to Interstate 87, between exits 31 and 32, in the town of Lewis for a personal injury accident. An investigation determined a 2019 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by Jason P. Delperuto, age 36, of Williamstown, NY. Delperuto was traveling south on Interstate 87 when he lost control of the truck, failing to maintain the lane, exiting the roadway, and entering the east side shoulder. Delperuto struck an earth embarkment, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn. Deloperuto was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
