On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., New York State Police from the Tarrytown barracks responded to a report of a single-car collision on the southbound side of Interstate 87 (New York State Thruway), near exit 14A, in the town of Ramapo.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2016 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when the operator lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle left the roadway on the right shoulder and struck a tree. The operator, identified as Anysah P. Nelson, age 24, of Middletown, NY, received immediate medical attention at the scene and was transported to Nyack Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
