On July 2, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., State Police were dispatched by Saratoga County 911 to a personal injury automobile accident that occurred on West River Road in the town of Northumberland.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2017 Ford Fusion, driven by James Z. Morgan, age 29, of Hudson Falls, was travelling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, operated by Erik M. Teresko, age 34, of Schuylerville, NY. Following the collision Morgan's vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Morgan was pronounced deceased on the scene. Teresko and a passenger were not injured.
