State Police arrested a Rhode Island man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance following a traffic stop

On January 22, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m. members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2015 Nissan Altima traveling North on Interstate 87 in the town of Ulster in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Troopers stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Lloyd Craig, age 35 from Providence, Rhode Island. 

A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded over 1,035 grams of cocaine. Lloyd Craig was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Intent to Sell. He was remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail.
