State Police arrested a Lake Katrine man for Robbery after responding to a report of a stolen vehicle

On February 6, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m. Troopers responded to a Mobile Station on State Route 209 on the town of Wawarsing for a report of a stolen vehicle. A preliminary investigation revealed that Shirley Clayton, age 84 from Kerhonkson was pumping gas when she was assaulted by Christopher Doulin, age 37 from Lake Katrine. Doulin shoved Clayton to the ground and entered her vehicle. As he was going through her purse, a patron at the gas station came to her aid and attempted to remove Doulin from the vehicle. He then sped away in the vehicle, a 2004 Toyota Corolla. He proceeded south on State Route 209. Troopers observed the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. Doulin crashed the vehicle and abandoned it and fled on foot. He was located by Troopers a short distance away and was immediately arrested. Troopers determined that Doulin was impaired by drugs and was in possession of a small amount of cocaine. He was also wanted on active bench warrant. He was charged with:

Hate/Crime Robbery 2nd degree -felony

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree

Bail Jumping 2nd degree.

Criminal Mischief 2nd degree.

He was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court in front of Judge Dechon and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.
