State Police arrest Waterford man following stolen vehicles investigation
Press Release

On November 7, 2024, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Caleb Dejong, 19, of Waterford, NY, for two counts of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, Criminal Mischief in the third degree, and Petit Larceny.

On November 4, 2024, at about 9:41 a.m. Troopers received the report that two vehicles had been stolen from a business in Halfmoon, NY.  The investigation determined that Dejong reportedly damaged part of the building in order to retrieve keys to vehicles parked there.  Dejong then allegedly used the keys to steal two vehicles from the parking lot.  Both vehicles were later located unoccupied in Halfmoon, NY, and recovered. The license plates were missing from one of the vehicles when it was recovered.

Dejong was arrested in Clifton Park and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing. He was then turned over to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office for pending charges unrelated to this investigation.  Dejong was arraigned at the Halfmoon Town Court on all charges and released on his own recognizance. Following his arraignment Delong was turned over to the Albany Police Department due to additional pending unrelated charges with that agency.
