On September 20, 2024, State Police of Fonda arrested Zachery J. Higby, 23, of Richfield Springs, NY, for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, Conspiracy in the fifth degree, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Ryan A. Dobson, 36, of Gloversville, NY, was also arrested for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.
On September 20, 2024, at about noon, Troopers stopped a vehicle in the area of State Route 30 in Amsterdam, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Higby, and the passenger as Dobson. A large amount of new merchandise was discovered within the vehicle. The proactive investigation discovered that Higby and Dobson had stolen the merchandise valued at more than $1,700 from the Lowes in Amsterdam, NY.
Both were arrested and transported to SP Fonda for processing. They were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Amsterdam Town Court the same day and then turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for unrelated pending charges.
