State Police arrest two following taxi driver assault

On May 31, 2026, State Police of Wilton arrested Joseph V. Bryant, 25, of Gansevoort, NY, and Jared O. Thomas, 25, of Gansevoort, NY, each for Assault 3rd, a class “A” misdemeanor. 

On May 31, 2026, at about 3:54 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Woodlake Drive in Wilton for the reports of a disturbance. The investigation determined that the victim had been hired to drive Bryant and Thomas from Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs to a residence in Wilton. On arrival at the requested location, a verbal altercation occurred. The victim exited the vehicle, and Bryant and Thomas followed them, striking them multiple times, causing physical injury. The victim was transported to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation. 

Bryant and Thomas were located nearby and arrested. They were both transported to SP Wilton for processing, issued appearance tickets returnable to the Wilton Town Court on June 23, 2026, and then released.
