On September 24, 2024, State Police of Greenwich, with the assistance of the Castleton Police Department (VT), arrested Donald E. Blodgett, 33, of Whitehall, NY, and Shaun J. Symons, 47, of Whitehall, NY, each for Burglary in the third degree.
On September 4, 2024, at about 10:13 a.m., Troopers received a complaint from a Greenwich Business that a storage container belonging to the business had been burglarized. The investigation determined that during the early morning hours of September 2, 2024, Blodgett and Symons reportedly came to the business’s property, where they allegedly forcibly entered a locked storage container causing damage. Multiple items were stolen from the container. The stolen property was later recovered by the Castleton Police Department (VT) in the possession of both Symons and Blodgett.
Both suspects were located in Granville, NY, where they were arrested and transported to SP Granville for processing. Both were arraigned at the Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part Court. Symons was remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility without bail. Blodgett was released on his own recognizance.
