

On May 29, 2024, State Police of Brunswick, with the assistance of the Bethlehem Police Department, arrested Michael Monge, 40, of Troy, NY
- Two counts of Burglary in the third degree, a class "D" felony
- Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class "D" felony
- Criminal Mischief in the second degree, a class "D" felony
- Attempted Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class "D" felony
- Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the third degree, a class "E" felony
- Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, a class "E" felony
- Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, a class "A" misdemeanor
- Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor
These arrests are a culmination of multiple investigations in March and April of 2024
On March 11, 2024, Troopers received a complaint that a business on Hoosick Road in Brunswick, NY, had been burglarized. The investigation determined that Monge reportedly entered the business without authorization the previous evening, caused damage to property, and burglarized the business.
Also, on March 11, 2024, Troopers responded to the Aldi's located in Brunswick for the report of a past larceny. The investigation determined Monge reportedly entered the store the previous evening and stole merchandise.
Two additional investigations determined that on March 14, 2024, and April 15, 2024, Monge reportedly entered the Walmart in Brunswick. While in the store, he allegedly attempted to break multiple theft-prevention devices. He was unsuccessful but damaged the devices.
On April 27, 2024, Troopers received a complaint that a business had been broken into on Hoosick Road in Brunswick, NY. The investigation determined Monge reportedly entered the property in the early morning hours. He caused damage to property and attempted to burglarize the business.
On May 29, 2024, Monge was transported from the Albany County Correctional Facility, where he was being held on similar but unrelated charges, to SP Brunswick for processing on all charges. He was arraigned before the Brunswick Town Court and returned to the Albany County Correctional Facility's custody.
