On December 27, 2024, State Police of Wilton arrested a 17-year-old who was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Moreau, NY.
On December 27, 2024, at about 8:40 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Moreau, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The 17-year-old was a passenger in the vehicle and observed not wearing a seat belt. The juvenile initially refused to provide any identifying information. When their identity was discovered, the investigation determined the 17-year-old had an active arrest warrant issued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in Nevada for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping, and other felony charges.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle and two other passengers were also detained but later released without criminal charges. The 17-year-old was arraigned at the Saratoga County Youth Part Court and remanded to the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Facility as a fugitive from justice. The juvenile will remain there pending extradition back to Nevada.
