State Police arrest Schenectady man for possessing Child Pornography.

On June 20, 2024, State Police of Princetown, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested Joshua Morrell, 26, of Schenectady, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.

Morrell is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.  His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant on his home in Schenectady, NY, on June 20, 2024.  The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Morrell was arrested at his Schenectady home and transported to SP Princetown, where he was processed. He was then transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
