State Police arrest Schenectady man for felony drug possession following Wilton traffic stop

On February 24, 2025, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit and, with the assistance of the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, arrested Lateef K. Roberts, 25, of Schenectady, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree. 

On February 24, 2025, at about 3:56 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Wilton, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Roberts was identified as a passenger in the vehicle.  Further investigation and with the assistance of Saratoga County Sheriff's Office K9 Bush, Troopers discovered approximately 1.5 pounds of a substance, which later field tested positive as Methamphetamine among Roberts's belongings. The controlled substances were seized, and Roberts was arrested at the scene. The driver was released without criminal charges. 

Roberts was transported to SP Wilton for processing. He was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
