State Police arrest a Painted Post woman after a disturbance at a gas station

On March 29, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the New York State Police, with the assistance of the Painted Post Police Department, Corning Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and Painted Post Fire Department, responded to the report of a female suspect with a knife setting fire to the Fasttrac Gas Station located at 364 West Pulteney Street in the village of Riverside.

Prior to law enforcement's arrival, the suspect had made threats to harm passersby, and upon arrival of police, the suspect threatened to kill law enforcement officers.  A plan was put in place and jointly executed by all agencies, and the suspect was apprehended without any injuries, and the fire was extinguished.

The suspect was identified as Abbi E. Fuller, age 37, of Painted Post, NY, and was subsequently charged with the following criminal charges: Arson in the 3rd (C Felony), Menacing a Police Officer(D Felony), Criminal Mischief in the 3rd (E Felony), Arson in the 5th (A Misdemeanor), Menacing in the 2nd (A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th (A Misdemeanor).  Fuller was transported to Steuben County CAP court, where she was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
