

On April 3, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Covington Street in the city of Ogdensburg relating to a ghost gun manufacturing case led by the Special Investigations Unit – Marcy, Gun Trafficking Interdiction Unit. The six-month long investigation led to the arrest of Patrick Murphy, age 39, of Ogdensburg. Recovered from the residence Murphy was using to manufacture the firearms were the following items:
- (7) handguns (ghost guns)
- (3) AR style assault rifles (ghost guns)
- (1) 3D printer
- Multiple 3D printed lower handgun receivers and rifle frames
- Hundreds of rounds of various ammunition
- Numerous 3D printed high-capacity magazines in various calibers
- Miscellaneous gun parts
- Computer and other electronic devices associated with the manufacturing of ghost guns
Murphy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm in the 1st Degree (B felony); one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm in the 3rd Degree (D felony); one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm in the 4th Degree (A misdemeanor). He was ordered held at the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $25,000 Cash Bail/$50,000 Bond. He scheduled to appear in Ogdensburg City Court on April 8 at 10:00 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
